What's Not Great

Pricing: This is the elephant in the room. The free CRM is generous, but once you need marketing automation, landing pages, or advanced reporting, you're looking at $800–3,600/month for Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise. That's steep for most small businesses.

Contact-based pricing: HubSpot charges per marketing contact. As your list grows, costs scale fast. A 50,000-contact database can push your monthly bill significantly higher than the base plan.

Complexity: HubSpot can do almost anything, which means there's a lot to configure. Onboarding takes time, and new users often feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of options.

Lock-in: Once your workflows, sequences, and contact data live in HubSpot, switching is painful. Factor this in before committing.
